Privacy policy

Last updated: 19 August 2026

Oogmeester (working name, trademark registration pending) helps you understand your eye exam results. Privacy is not an afterthought: we process as little data as possible, store everything within the EU and use no tracking. This page describes exactly what we do and don't do.

Documents you view in the tools

When you pick a file in a tool (for example an OCT report, glasses prescription or clinical report), it is displayed in your own browser only. It never leaves your device: there is no upload and we cannot see it. Close the page and it's gone.

Email address for the waitlist

If you leave your email address at “Keep me posted”, we store only that address and your language preference. Purpose: sending you one message when the feature goes live. Legal basis: your consent (art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Storage: in a Supabase database in Frankfurt (EU). The address cannot be read through the website itself and is not shared with third parties or used for anything else. Want off the list? Email us and we'll delete it.

No tracking, no ads

This site uses no third-party analytics, no advertising cookies and no social media pixels. We set no tracking cookies.

Hosting

The website runs on Vercel; this involves technical server logs (such as IP address and timestamp) needed to serve the site securely. Health data is never stored with the web host.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Email praktijk@oogmeester.nl. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Future features

Once you can upload documents to us for review, a more extensive privacy policy will apply — built on EU storage, encryption and clear retention periods. This policy will be updated before that time.
